revere, massachusetts
The Thayer Ave Boathouse project is capstone of the City of Revere Gibson Park resiliency and recreation project. The project is aimed at providing a significant nature-based resiliency measures to an area that has historically faced both tidal and storm flooding events.
The boathouse is raised up above the floodplain and includes the renovation of a disused seaside industrial building. The new structure is a new, accessible, inclusive, and resilient community boathouse, designed to serve local teams, equipment rentals, and community events. The building includes a community room, locker and changing facilities, and storage for boats and rowing shells.
